SATSair Air Taxi Service Signs Pilot Training Agreement with FTS International
Greenville, S.C. (October 17, 2006) – SATSair, a provider of “Air Taxi” services, announced today that
it has signed an agreement for FTS International to provide SATSair pilot candidates initial training
under its CAPT (Commercial Airline Pilot Training) program beginning October 2006.
The SATSair training program, designed by CAPT, will be conducted using technologically advanced
Cirrus SR22 aircraft like those used by SATSair. The program consists of a highly-focused proficiencybased
85-hour training curriculum that will take place over an approximately two-week period for each
student. Training will be conducted at FTS International’s training facilities at Flagler County Airport in
Palm Coast, Florida, and FTS International will provide FAA Part 135 compliant equipment, materials
and instruction for each candidate.
“Safety is our first priority at SATSair,” stated Tim McConnell, Executive Vice President of Operations
for SATSair. “Safe aircraft, like the Cirrus, and first-rate pilot training form the foundation for our
flawless record. FTS International has a proven record for pilot training and is used by many notable
companies in the industry.”
Under the agreement, SATSair can also request additional services from FTS International including
flight coordinator training, recurrent pilot training, maintenance services and pilot recruitment.
“FTS International’s other services are a great supplement to our in-house capabilities,” McConnell
said. “We know all of their programs match our stringent requirements and having them available as
needed gives us the flexibility to meet demand as we execute our growth plan.”
“The CAPT Program is proud to be SATSair’s exclusive pilot training partner,” stated Shawn Raker,
President and CEO of FTS International. “CAPT’s Owner and Operator Training Programs are
specifically designed to prepare pilots to safely fly and operate high-performance technologically
advanced aircraft.”
