CAPT's faculty and staff personifies the core values of the program. With over 100 combined years of expertise in flight and ground training, the instructor staff is dedicated to delivering the most current training to CAPT students. Continuous reviews by operational and course managers ensure that courseware and curriculum remains up-to-date as techniques and technology change in commercial and general aviation. CAPT's administrative staff is completely focused on managing customer issues from first contact through graduation and beyond.
The result of hiring the best staff in the industry is a level of innovation that allows students to exceed FAA minimum standards in all aspects of their flight training.
Each CAPT piston instructor pilot is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), a Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII), and must have a Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI). They average 1,400 hours of instruction. All CAPT simulator instructor pilots hold a Type Rating in our MD-90 Enhanced Flight Deck (EFD), level-D simulator.
All CAPT academic courses are taught by our experienced instructors.
Our instructors have been carefully selected from both the general aviation and commercial airline industry for their academic and industry knowledge. Each instructor pilot attends at least two Training Skills Development sessions annually to keep their training techniques on the leading edge. All piston instructors attend Fighter Combat International for Emergency Maneuver Training.
CAPT was born at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and to this day, CAPT's faculty and staff consist of the same world-class people—some of the world's finest professors and respected experts in aviation who have worked in the industry and share real-life insight and experience. Furthermore, all of CAPT's staff, instructors, mechanics and students are some the finest people you will ever meet anywhere. Many CAPT cadets come from accomplished military and civil backgrounds, high-ranking professional careers, and of course, those just starting their higher education. Training at CAPT is more than attending a school—it is eating, drinking and sleeping aviation, with others who share the same passion, and forming long-lasting relationships with a top-notch team of career mentors and peers that become your best friends for life.
