The Commercial Airline Pilot Training Program (CAPT, LLC) was recently awarded funding for financial aid services from SLM Financial, a Sallie Mae company. The loan program will give CAPT students funding for the full cost of the CAPT program and includes partial assistance for living expenses. “SLM approval of our school is great news for CAPT.” Said CAPT, LLC, Executive Director, Patrick Murphy, “ Students will have the ability to secure financial aid in pursuit of their dream of becoming an airline first officer.” In addition, students will be allowed to defer repayment of the loan for up to 14 months giving them additional flexibility to pursue their aviation careers.

Flight training benefits reimburse the eligible trainee for 60% of the charges paid by him or her for training completed in an approved course. This includes charges for Dual Flights, Ground School, and Pre-Post training, for the hours in the FSDO approved training Course Outline, up to 120% of the FAR Part 141, whichever is less. Benefits may also be paid for solo flights in approved program, but only for the minimum required by FAR Part 141. The first program for which VA benefits can be paid is Commercial or Commercial and Instrument. The Commercial and Instrument must be pursued concurrently if the student possesses a private license restricted to VFR.
