FTS International performs an airline-standard, 10-year background check that covers employment, schooling, civil and criminal history, driving records, residential records, and more.

Upon completion of the airline background check, applicants are invited to attend a screening session at the Flagler flight training facility north of Daytona Beach, FL. These day-and-a-half sessions are offered Monday through Friday. The Office of Admissions will assist with lodging and travel arrangements.
Students who enroll and complete the first certification are eligiable for a $500 travel reimbursement applied to their flight account. (We will not give a CASH reimbursement.)
The screening process includes:
- Assessment of general intelligence, personality, aptitude, and cognitive reasoning
- A simulator evaluation
- A personal interview
Scores from these tests are tabulated, and applicants whose combined scores meet or exceed the standards set by the airlines for the CAPT Program are accepted for admission.
- Screening is a day-and-a-half session.
- Acceptance into the program is valid for six months.
- Training normally commences once per month in approximately the third week.
- The application fee is $180 for background and screening costs.
