FULL FLIGHT SIMULATORS (FFS)

Full Flight Simulators are categorized by the FAA in levels A through D. Level D is the highest level of aircraft realism and visual fidelity. The quality of Level D simulation is so realistic, most airline pilots conduct all their jet training in a simulator, and the first time they fly the actual jetliner is with a full load of passengers.

The Boeing MD-90 EFD (Electronic Flight Deck) simulator used at CAPT is a Level D simulator and one of only three in the world that offers a full glass-cockpit in this DC-9 aircraft series. It has a six-axis system for a full range of motion and features a touch-screen Instructor Operating Station (IOS).
