FLIGHT TRAINING DEVICES
(FTD)
Flight Training Device

Flight Training Devices are FAA-approved flight simulators that
do not feature actual movement. Instead, they simulate movement through
high-fidelity visual systems. The advantage of using an FTD to learn
a technique is that a cadet can learn in an environment where the
instructor can stop the simulation, explain the lesson or the technique,
then allow the cadet to perform the tasks. This method of learning
has proven more beneficial than teaching a complicated technique
in the actual airplane. |
